Let’s Talk About Watches

Published by B under Interesting Facts, Window Shopping

I love watches! But after my Tag Heuer died on me, I didn’t buy one or wear one anymore. And I miss it! I remember when I used to go gaga over Swatch, Benetton and Guess watches. I miss those days too! I really love those funky designs and braided leather straps. Yeah, I love anything braided leather… I remember also owning a Benetton backpack with braided leather straps and a braided leather belt too. Anyway, back to watches look at what I’ve found doing online window shopping… I know these are luxury watches but I’d love me some of these!

From left to right, that’s the Tag Heuer Aquaracer 2000 SS Womens Watch, Gai Mattiolo Fashion Dangling Watch, and Gucci 107L SS Charms Bracelet Watch. Aren’t these gorgeous?

And here’s a little interesting fact: Have you noticed that almost all watch ads has the time set to 10:10? I noticed it when I was still working for a magazine as a lyout artist. And here’s the reason why… a watch ad should off all the hands without blocking the brand logo. The 10:10-ish set-up does that while framing the logo, making the face look balanced, and creating a positive-looking, upward-pointing “smiley face.”

CDs

Published by B under My Finds

I needs lots of blank CDs! I don’t know why but I’m very picky when it comes to CDs. I must like the design… I remember the last time I bought some, the designs available were only of cartoon characters and I got the Mickey Mouse design. But I never use it for my personal stash of files. Haha! No offense to Mickey Mouse but I’m thinking that I’d be filing those CDs and I want a prettier and more serious design. So, I went to Greenhills a few days after buying the CDs and looked for more CDs. I saw Imation’s Cube Series and settled for that one. Here’s what my CDs look like

And I really admit now that I’m an OC. Haha! Anyway, right now I’m still finishing two albums for my client and as soon as I’m done, I’m going to Greenhills again to buy more CDs. My stash is going low and I need more. And I’m going to look for espadrilles, like what I’ve said on one my previous posts and I bet I’ll be needing a energy pills with all the walking that I’m going to do. I just wish it wouldn’t rain that day.

Easy No-Bake Oreo Cheesecake

Published by B under Food Trip

Ingredients:
375 grams Oreo crumbs
1/2 cup melted butter
225 grams cream cheese, softened
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons unflavored gelatin
1/3 cup water
1 cup heavy cream

1. Line the bottom of a 10 by 2 inch springform pan with foil. Set aside.
2. In a bowl, mix together Oreo crumbs and melted butter. Use half of the mixture to line the bottom of pan. Press with a spoon. Set aside the other half.
3. In another bowl, cream together cream cheese and sugar. Add condensed milk and vanilla extract. Mix well.
4. Sprinkle gelatin over water. Set aside for 2 minutes then melt over low heat.
5. Whip heavy cream until soft peak stage.
6. Add gelatin to the cream cheese mixture then fold in whipped cream.
7. Pour into the pan lined with Oreo crust. Top with other half of crumb mixture.
8. Chill for at least 4 hours. Serve cold.

My nephew and I tried this recipe last weekend and it was very easy to make. It tastes good but a little too sweet so you might want to skip adding granulated sugar or lessen the condensed milk. The recipe is from Yummy Magazine. I love that magazine! It has lots of easy to follow yummy recipes. I guess the name says so huh? Haha! Anyway, do you believe that when you’re craving for something, you’re lacking a nutrient that is in what you’re craving for? Hmmm… I’m always craving for something salty. Even if I’ve already eaten something salty, I still crave for it. So what does that tell me? But lately I’ve been eating a lot of sweets… well not too much, but I’ve been munching on that cheesecake we made. My nephew and my I are the only ones who eat it because they say it’s too sweet. Haha! If I were to get myself insured, I need a life insurance no exam involved. With all the sweet and salty food I’ve been eatin, I’m pretty sure soemthing’s wrong with my body already. Haha!

But I really don’t know where to start and what business exactly to put up. Haha! Good luck me! But to those who are planning it already, you might want to check out authorize.net. It is a payment gateway service provider allowing merchants to accept credit card and electronic checks payments through their web site, with a user base of over 207,000 merchants, which makes them the Internet’s largest payment gateway service provider.

I love surfing!

Published by B under Sari-sari

..the net that is. I’d also love to try surfing the waves too but I don’t have the guts yet to try it. Anyway, back to surfing the net, it is amazing how much I have discovered and learned by doing so. Take for example the term CAT6, I had no idea what it is so I just googled it and found out that is a is a cable standard for Gigabit Ethernet and other network protocols. So, next time I encounter that term I won’t be like “Huh?” anymore. Haha! Know what I mean?

I also love finding a lot of things that I love on the net, that’s why I’ve decided to make this blog more like my online window shopping adventure. And it reminds me of stuff that I’d like to check out or buy. So if you have anything interesting or great finds to share, please do so… I’d love to have a peek too! :)
