Handhelds

Published by B under Sari-sari

If somebody tells me to buy a handheld a couple of years ago, I would just laugh at him and tell him I didn’t need one. For me, that time, handhelds are for executives or someone who’s got a really busy schedule and I didn’t. My life before is just office, home and then Anilao on weekends. But now I want one! Take note… not need but want! Haha! I just realized I need it for reading purposes when traveling. Books are bulky and I need all the space I need when packing my stuff when I go on trips.

Snow

Published by B under Sari-sari

I envy my friend… she called me today and told me she and her friend are scouting for snowmobile exhaust accessories. I’m envious because I want experience snow, especially the in the Himalayas. I’m thinking that if I’m going to dream of snow then I’d better dream big. Haha! I’ve always wanted to go the base camp of Everest, it’s one of my greatest dreams as a mountaineer.

Anyway, notice how the weather changes so fast? Seems like December is getting colder every year. Do you think it’s possible that someday soon we’re going to have snow here in the Philippines too? :D

Free Makeup Sample

Published by B under Sari-sari

A few weeks ago, the bebot twitters were talking about mineral makeups and we found a couple of sites that offer free samples, one of them is local, Ellana Mineral Cosmetics. So, I filled up their form and waited for their email. I was pretty excited when I got their email, asking me to deposit P50 for the the shipping fee. So, I bothered my mom and asked her to deposit the money to the bank and here’s what I got in the mail today:

I had to laugh when I opened the package and saw what’s inside. I hope they’re not expecting people to fall in love with their products with this much sample. Those ziplocks are about 2 inches big each. I was expecting at least small tubs of each, or even a small tub of at least one of the samples, or at least they could put in a more presentable sachets. Oh well, there’s money I’m never gonna see again.

But I’m going to give them a try. I trust Kathy when she said that the Make-Up Primer, Lip Scrub and Lip Treatments are good. I also want to try their cheek tint. We’ll see…

Anyway, thanks for letting me vent. I’m gonna go now and compare prices of computer memory for my pc.

Movies Movies Movies

Published by B under Sari-sari

I have a new blog… well, it’s actually not so new but reformatted it and made it into a new movie blog. I have at least 700 movies in my collection and it’s still growing so I’ve decided to give it more focus and create a separate blog about it. It’s not going to be about movie reviews, well maybe just a little, it’s going to be more like how the movie affects me or what I liked or dislike in it or how I could relate to it. I only have a couple of posts there but I’m working on it now. If you wanna see it, click here.

Nights In Rodanthe

Published by B under Sari-sari

It’s never too late for a second chance.

Actors: Diane Lane, Richard Gere
Director: George C. Wolfe
Company: DiNovi Pictures
Year Released: 2008

In the romantic drama “Nights in Rodanthe,” based on the Nicholas Sparks Best-selling novel, Diane Lane stars as Adrienne Willis, a woman with her life in chaos, who retreats to the tiny coastal town of Rodanthe, in the Outer Banks of North Carolina, to tend to a friend’s inn for the weekend. Here she hopes to find the tranquility she so desperately needs to rethink the conflicts surrounding her – a wayward husband who has asked to come home, and a teenaged daughter who resents her every decision.

Almost as soon as Adrienne gets to Rodanthe, a major storm is forecast and Dr. Paul Flanner is not on a weekend escape but rather is there to face his own crisis of conscience.

Now, with the storm closing in, the two turn to each other for comfort and, in one magical weekend, set in motion a life-changing romance that will resonate throughout the rest of their lives.

——————–

I first heard of this story from my cousin. We were on a boat ride from Mindoro to Batangas and she said she’d seen the movie before she left the States for a vacation here in the Philippines. She told her daughter and me the story and I was quite fascinated by it, especially about the part where the man told Dr. Flanner about how much he loved his wife.

I got a copy of the book first and read it then I watched the movie last night. Honestly, I like the book better. I imagined the two main characters to be both mellow but in the movie they seemed snappy and angry. And I don’t like how they changed the sequence of events and a lot of details. Funny also how the scene with the storm became more like a suspense while in the book it was kinda romantic.

The movie was really disappointing for me and I’m really glad I read the book because it is much better and more touching and way, way more romantic.

Fashion Dilemna

Published by B under Sari-sari

I promised myself that starting next year I would take more effort in making myself look nice. On January, I will be attending my cousin’s wedding and thought I’d wear a dress. The thing is, I don’t really wear dresses. I do wear skirts, but more like a casual sporty type and I think I only wore a kinda formal skirt once. So, I’m going crazy looking for something to wear to the wedding, not to mention I need to lose more weight fast… I’m already starting to read about Fenphedra. Haha! Just kidding! But seriously, I really need to find a dress and get in shape. Anyway, I surfed the net to look for styles and found myself attracted to coat dresses. So, I’m thinking of wearing something a little like this:

Now, I need your honest opinion and please help me decide by answering this pole, you know, with me being on the plus size… And please don’t hesitate to leave a comment if you to say or suggest something. It would really be appreciated!

Unemployed

Published by B under Sari-sari

I’ve been unemployed for three years now. Haha! Yeah, I help make our country’s unemployment rate grow bigger. Oh well, I guess I just tired of those companies who harass their employees in some ways. And besides, I’m not really unemployed but rather self-employed. Yeah I don’t earn as much when I was still in the corporate world but at least I’m not stressed and I can do things in my own time and doing what I love. And for next year, I’m really planning to do more stuff which would help me earn more.

Di Mo Lang Alam

Published by B under Sari-sari

This one’s dedicated to Kianah who posted on my shoutbox and requested for more Indio I tugtog. :)

Di Mo Lang Alam
by Indio I

This reminds me of my Anilao days! We would play this song in the car over and over and over again. And we would all do this dance which we call the “laba” dance. We call it that because we look like we’re handwashing something. Haha! And also, we have the cowboy dance, where we lift our hand and pretend to be spinning a rope. Haha! I miss Anilao and my friends!!!

Menthol Sticks

Published by B under Sari-sari

I’m not referring to cigs, I’m really trying to quit, you know. What I’m talking about are those Chinese menthol sticks. I don’t really know it’s name but sometimes I one of it’s brand names is Bohrer Ding but I don’t call it that because I don’t like the name. Haha! Anyway, I just can’t live without it! I don’t drink meds because I’m allergic to aspirin and paracetamol (and who knows what else) so, I use the menthol stick when I have a headache, which is often. Funny thing is it’s price range, depending on where you it. I buy the big one and it costs P220 in Mercury Drugstore and in Watson’s. It’s P120 in this Chinese drugstore in Greenhills. Then I found out it only costs P80 in this Chinese drugstore in Quiapo and the last time I went to Quaipo, I found a new Chinese drugstore and they’re selling it for only P70. I wonder how much it is in Ongpin and Binondo…

On another note, my sister was advised that some of the best diet pills are the ones being sold in Chinese drugstores. She tried one I think but I’m not sure if it worked. Me, I’m through with diet pills already. I’d rather jog and eat a healthy diet. Really now? Haha!
